I was born and still live in Nuneaton, Warwickshire which is in the Midlands of England.

Arley

My maternal family come from Arley, near Fillongley. Arley is present in the Doomsday book as Arei but the most significant occurences in its long history were the opening and -- forty-four years later -- closing of the Arely Colliery.
